About Jerry Brunk

Jerry Brunk, Owner and Designated Broker for Land On It AZ Realty grew up in a small farm town in Wisconsin called Ixonia. This town is located between Milwaukee and Madison and the name "Ixonia" originates from the pioneers of the township putting all letters of the alphabet in a hat and picking out six letters consecutively, eventually spelling out the name of the new town. Jerry moved to Arizona in 1986 to pursue a life-long dream of living in the West.

While attending Scottsdale Community College and earning an Associate Degree in Motion Picture and Television Jerry worked at Desert Highlands Golf Club eventually becoming the Assistant Clubhouse Manager. Desert Highlands Golf Club is an exclusive private golf/tennis club and was one of the first Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses in Arizona. Desert Highlands Golf Club was host to the first Skins Games which was a four player match between Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Tom Watson. The master planned community was developed by the Lyle Anderson Company. Jerry's duties as Assistant Clubhouse Manager was management of the Food & Beverage operations which included managing the formal and casual dining rooms, kitchen, men's and women's locker rooms, golf course halfway house food facility, tennis court activities and banquet program. In 1992, Jerry received his sales agent real estate license.

While working at this upscale private golf community, Jerry developed numerous associations with highly regarded real estate developers and investors, enabling Jerry to recognize the opportunity of Arizona real estate. One of those real estate developers in particular was Ben F. Brooks II, who was very inspirational and one of Jerry's mentors. Jerry was allowed to sit in on meetings at Ben Brooks & Associates and learn how large real estate transactions were put together such as the purchase of 150,000 acres of the Santa Fe Railroad land between Kingman and Lake Havasu. During this period, Jerry worked as a real estate agent in the Phoenix metropolitan area mainly focusing in the Scottsdale/Rio Verde Foothills market and also worked at Desert Highlands at the same time.

Upon leaving employment at Desert Highlands in 1996, references and recommendations were received from the following people: Lyle Anderson (real estate developer for high end golf communities including Desert Highlands, Desert Mountain, Hokuli'a, Las Campanas, Loch Lamond Golf Club and Superstition Mountain), Donald "Don" Valentine (an influential venture capitalist and been called the "grandfather of Silicon Valley venture capital, Mr. Valentine founded the venture capital firm Sequoia Capital and was one of the original investors of Apple Computer, Atari, LSI Logic, Oracle Corporation, Cisco, Electronic Arts, Google, YouTube and many other companies), Robert Halliday (executive for Boise-Cascade, Princess Cruise Lines, helped launch Franchise Finance Corporation of America), D. David "Dewey" Sebold (joined Tombstone Pizza Corporation in 1976 and eventually became the President and CEO), F.A. Jim Blankenbaker (was with 3M for more than 20 years serving as vice presidential general manager of the company's insulation materials division), Charles C. Myers (started Superior Industries, owned and operated Freezer Services).

During 1996 to 2000, working for a land development company, Jerry specialized in the selling, marketing and managing of several real estate projects known as Sun Valley Ranch in Maricopa County, Buckeye, Arizona and Juniper Ridge in Navajo County, Show Low, Arizona. Jerry also sold other large land parcels in La Paz and Yuma Counties and subdivisions such as Silver Star Ranch, Butterfield Farms, Horseshoe Trails, Desert Sky Ranch, West Valley Ranches, Eagle Ranches, Harquahala Ranchitos, Coyote Ridge, Hassayampa Ranches and White Owl Ranch. During this period, Jerry also earned his bachelor's degree in business/marketing.

In 2000, Jerry received his real estate broker's license and created Land On It AZ Realty, specializing in residential housing, land, horse/ranch and investment properties in Maricopa, Coconino and Yavapai counties in Arizona. In 2005, Jerry formed a partnership out of Omaha, Nebraska and the partnership purchased 2,225 acres inside of OX Ranch, a 100,000 acre working cattle ranch located 17 miles northwest of Wickenburg in Yavapai County, AZ. The BNSF Railway, which is owned by Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett (Omaha, Nebraska) runs through the Ranch. The property has abundant water, three phase power, excellent growing soil and mineral rights allowing for self-sustainable living. It is also an ideal year round climate for horses and cattle. Jerry is a member of SAAR (Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors) and PAAR (Prescott Area Association of Realtors).
